About

The AI at UB Forums offered an opportunity to hear the latest updates on AI research and integration of generative AI in UB's classrooms, and engage in conversations on these topics with colleagues.

UB has been a leader in AI research since the 1990s and now has over 200 faculty working on AI projects.

On April 30th, the VPAA Generative AI Task Force subgroups gave reports on their findings, including how AI research at UB is progressing in STEM fields, Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences and professional schools. Winners from the VPAA Small Grants Program for using AI in teaching also provided presentations in their areas of research.

On May 14th, members of the VPAA Generative AI Task Force presented a readout of major AI recommendations for the university. A panel discussion was also held with university experts on AI for the good of society.
