To enable your course in UBlearns you need to follow
the directions below. If you have multiple sections of one course
your can choose to combine all sections into one UBlearns course
or you can keep them as separate UBlearns courses. An advantage
to combining the sections into one UBlearns course is that you will
only have to upload course materials once.
To Request a Course:
- Your UB email must be enabled. If you have not enabled your
UB email you will not be able to log into UBLearns or request
your course. To enable your email go to CIT's
web site and click on enable email.
- At this time you need to decide if you are going to use
your UB email for communication between yourself and your
students. If you would like to use another email account then
you need to setup your UB email to forward to your other email
account. All UBlearns email will be sent to your UB email.
There are no exceptions to this. So if you want to use
another account make sure you setup your UB email to forward
to the other account on the same page as above.
- There are two ways to request your course to be set up in UBlearns.
- Go to MyUB
and login. Once you are in MyUB look for the "My Courses"
section. This will display the courses you are teaching this
semester. In this section you will see a link called "UBlearns
Setup". Click on this link.
- Go to UBlearns
and login. The first screen that is displayed is the "Updates
Tab". On this screen you will see any announcements.
One of the options in the left hand column will say "Set
Up Your Courses". Click on the BIWI link.
- On the page that is displayed you need to select the semester
of the course you want to create in UBlearns. Then click the GO
button. This will display the list of courses for that semester.
You will then be able to enable the courses you want to use UBlearns
for. You will also be able to select which courses you want combined.
You can only combine courses this way for future semesters. If
you decide to combine sections of a course after the semester
begins you will need to email the UBlearns
support staff directly.

- Once you enable your courses, they will be activated over night.
Then you can log into UBlearns and setup the courses.
