Watch for Deadlines...Register Early! 

Following are descriptions of some of the most prominent recruiting events that UB students are eligible to attend. Read the descriptions carefully to determine your eligibility in terms of degree required, country work authorizations, etc.

You may register for most of the events free on the web; however, you will be responsible for any necessary travel arrangements. Many events require you to register up to 6 months or more ahead of time, so observe the deadlines and register early!

    • 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
    • Student Union Lobby, North Campus
    • Both on-campus and off-campus positions available

 September 2008

  • Illinois Business Consulting (IBC) Annual Consulting Conference 

    • Graduate students only

    • Friday, September 12, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m
    • Chicago, Illinois 
    • The conference will feature a keynote speaker, panel discussion and career fair. The objective are to provide an opportunity for students to meet, interact and connect with professional consultants and engage in career-focused activities providing real-world content. 

October 2008

  • UB Tech Fair

    • Tuesday, October 7, 3 - 6:30 p.m.
    • UB Alumni Arena, Main Gym, North Campus
    • This event is a MUST for School of Management students choosing the Biotechnology, Information Assurance and Management Information Systems options. All School of Management students are encouraged to attend. Don’t miss this event! UB Tech hosts recruiters seeking full-time, co-op and internship opportunities in a wide variety of disciplines including: Computer Science, Engineering, Physical and Life Sciences and many others. Last year, more than 1,000 UB students and alumni attended
  • National Society of Hispanic MBAs Conference and Career Expo

    • October 9 - 11
    • Atlanta, Georgia
    • The National Society of Hispanic MBAs sponsors this job fair and interview event during their annual conference in late September or early October. While the event targets Hispanics exclusively, participation is open to both members and non-members of the NSH. Also open to undergraduates
  • International MBA/Masters Recruiting Forum

    • 13th Annual Global MBA/Masters Employment Conference
    • October 30 - November 1 CANCELLED - New date to be announced
    • Caribe Royale Resort Suites in Orlando, FL
    • Application Deadline: July 30
    • This is the premier event for International MBAs seeking employment outside of the U.S. It is typically held in late October or early November. You can register for this conference during the previous spring semester. Applicants are encouraged to register early

November 2008

  • JobQuest

    • Date and Time: To be announced
    • HSBC Arena, Buffalo, NY
    • A job fair organized by the WNY association of college career centers, called the WNYACCC.

  • DISCO International Career Forums

    • Held in spring, summer and fall for Japanese/English speaking students in New York City, Boston, San Francisco, and Tokyo

  • Careers in Africa Recruitment Summit

    • November 21-23
    • Houston, Texas
    • Deadline to Apply: October 5
    • Economic progress across Africa has resulted in elevated demand for broad based management skills and companies like Addax Petroleum, Coca-Cola Sabco, GE and Heineken are now conducting international recruitment campaigns as part of their overall skills development strategy. As a result, Global Career Company is pleased to announce our Careers in Africa Recruitment Summit. This annual invitation-only event brings together African graduates and professionals seeking careers across Africa with leading companies operating throughout the region, and will feature pre-scheduled interviews, presentations and networking sessions. Companies at this years Summit will include AES Sonel, ARM Investment Managers, Bank PHB, Barclays, Cadbury, Eni, Rand Water, Total and Tullow Oil.

  • "Network New York"

    • Monday, January 5
    • PricewaterhouseCoopers
    • 300 Madison Avenue, on the corner of Madison and 42nd street
    • The Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center and the School of Management Alumni Association (SOMAA) co-host this student/alumni networking event in New York City each January.  Since it's inception, Network New York has consistently received rave reviews from both students and alumni. Space is limited, student registration will be required.
  • JOBSapalooza

    • Date and Time: To be announced
    • Buffalo Convention Center and various New York State locations
    • The job fair is for candidates who wish to work in Western New York after graduation. Hosted by UB Career Services in 259 Capen. Visit Jobsapalooza.com

February 2009

  • "Network Buffalo"

    • Date and Time: To be announced
    • Alfiero Center, North Campus
    • This is an excellent networking opportunity, but not a recruiting event
    • The UB School of Management Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center (CRC) is collaborating with the SOM Alumni Association to provide networking opportunities for students and SOM alumni in the Western New York area. Space is limited, student registration will be required. 
  • UB CareerFEST - The All Majors Job and Internship Fair

    • Date: To be announced
    • 3 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
    • Alumni Arena, Main Gym, UB North Campus
    • The job fair for all majors 
    • Hosted by UB Career Services in 259 Capen.
    • It is open to all UB students, including business majors at the undergraduate and masters levels. Register on-site for free, dress professionally, and bring plenty of résumés. Click on the link above to see which employers attended last year's event

March 2009

  • Human Services Career Fair

    • Date and Time: To be announced
    • UB Student Union
    • Meet with representatives about jobs and internships from human service agencies around Western New York
  • UB Summer Job Fair

    • Date and Time: To be announced
    • Student Union Lobby and Social Hall, UB North Campus
    • Make money and gain experience this summer. Attend the Summer Jobs Fair if you are interested in positions at camps, not-for-profits, in restaurants/hospitality, retail and more
  • Entrepreneurship Expo

    • Date and Time: To be announced
    • Center for Tomorrow, UB North Campus
    • Linking UB Management students to local, emerging businesses
    • Learn what makes these business successful
    • Discuss your own enterprising ideas
    • Gain insight into potential internships or job opportunities
    • Meet the "next Google"
    • This event is open to MBA, MS and senior undergraduate students. Space is limited, student registration is required
